    How to Make Easy Air Fryer Toast

    Air Fryer Toast is such a game changer! All you have to do is pop two slices of your favorite gluten-free bread into the air fryer basket and you'll have perfectly golden-brown toast ready in a matter of minutes!

    Why you'll love air fryer toast!

    Quick & Easy - Air Fryer toast is a super quick breakfast or snack option! Using the air fryer makes it super easy to make, and you're guaranteed golden toast every time.

    Save Time - You can fit up to four slices of bread into the air fryer vs. only two in a toaster. This is why it's great for busy mornings!

    Versatile - I also love that there are a variety of topping options which makes it great for kids! Pizza Toast and Blueberry Lemon Toast are two of my personal favorites.

    Allergy Safe - Using an air fryer vs. a toaster can eliminate the fear around cross contamination for those that have serious gluten allergies. You can dedicate the air fryer to gluten-free cooking!

    🍴Ingredient Notes

    To make this super easy air fryer toast recipe you'll need freshly sliced bread and an air fryer! (That's it!)

    You can put any type of bread in the air fryer, but for this recipe I used my Cassava Flour Bread recipe. You could also try my Paleo Garlic Herb Bread or Cinnamon Raisin Bread!

    For store bought brands, I suggest Soozy's and Base Culture. They are both made with high quality ingredients!

    Air Fryer Options

    I actually have two styles of air fryers and recommend both depending on what fits best with your lifestyle.

    Basket Style Air Fryer

    The first type of air fryer I have is what is shown in this post - a basket style air fryer. This air fryer is portable and can be stored in a pantry or cabinet.

    Oven Style Air Fryer

    The second style air fryer I have is my Ninja Foodi Air Fryer Oven. This appliance is bigger and sits on my kitchen counter.

    This appliance can air fry, toast, bake, or dehydrate and flips up to save on counter space when it's not in use. (I use it as an air fryer and toaster the most.)

    NOTE: When I air fry toast in my Ninja Foodi, I use the wire rack instead of the baking tray. (Both come with it.)

    🍴Step by Step Instructions

    Step 1: Preparing Bread

    Start by adding three pieces of bread in a single layer on the air fryer tray. (Leave space between each slice.)

    Step 2: Air Frying Toast

    For best results, cook at 400 degrees for about 3-4 minutes. (Or until golden brown.)

    Step 3: Serving

    Serve hot and top with your favorite toast toppings!

    Serving Suggetions

    You can enjoy your plain toast with a variety of toppings! Butter, Cream Cheese, Ghee, Peanut butter, cashew butter, almond butter, or apple butter are all great options.

    You can also top the toast with fresh fruit or a nut-free chocolate spread.

    One of my favorite toppings is a quick and easy homemade "jam." To make, microwave frozen berries until hot. Mash hot berries and spread over toast!

    For a savory option, try avocado toast, cheese toast, or toast with eggs! (Fried eggs or scrambled eggs work great.)

    Can my air fryer replace a toaster?

    In my opinion, yes! They are so versatile. You can make pretty much anything in an air fryer that you would a toaster or toaster oven.

    Expert Tips

    • I would suggest not adding toppings on the toast until it comes out of the air fryer. (Unless you're making pizza toast or cheese toast!)
    • If you're using homemade bread, I believe the thickness of the slice matters. Do not cut too thin or it will get burnt or too crispy! Plus, thicker slices hold more toppings.
    • Only toast a few pieces of bread at a time. Do not overcrowd the air fryer.

    How to store leftovers

    I would recommend only air frying the amount of toast you plan to eat at that time because it's best served hot!

    If you have leftover toast, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

    To reheat, air fry for 1-2 minutes until warm.
