Why You'll Love This Recipe
Homemade Dairy-Free Vanilla Creamer is a delicious and healthy way to add a little sweetness and vanilla flavor to your morning cup of coffee!
I love making my own homemade coffee creamer because I know exactly what it's made of - simple, fresh, and clean ingredients.
Healthy
Unlike most store-bought creamers, this recipe doesn't have a long ingredient list and it's made without artificial ingredients, hydrogenated oils, artificial colors, or thickeners like guar gum.
The base of this recipe is made with non-dairy milk and full fat coconut milk which makes this a great dairy-free and vegan option!
To add natural sweetness, I used pure maple syrup which is a great Paleo friendly sweetener. Swap for Lakanto sugar-free maple syrup to make this recipe keto friendly!
Easy
It only takes about 5 minutes to make in the blender and no heating or cooking required! (AKA less dishes to clean!) This recipe tastes just as good, if not better than what you order at your favorite coffee shop!

🍴Ingredient Notes
- Full-Fat Coconut Milk - This is my favorite dairy-free alternative to heavy cream. It gives the recipe a rich, creamy consistency. My favorite brand of full fat coconut milk is Native Forest, but any canned full fat coconut milk will work.
- Dairy-Free Milk - You can use almond milk, coconut milk, cashew milk, oat milk, or any non dairy milk!
- Maple Syrup - For a touch of sweetness, I like using maple syrup. It also adds a nice flavor to the creamer.
- Vanilla Extract - I recommend using a high quality vanilla extract to get the best tasting creamer!
- Salt - Just a pinch of salt brings all the flavors together!
Expert Tips
- The coconut cream will thicken up in the refrigerator. Just give the jar a good shake before pouring or use a spoon or whisk to stir.
- Use an electric milk frother to create a light and fluffy consistency before adding to your coffee.
- If you don't like your coffee creamer too sweet, only use 1 tablespoon of maple syrup.
- To make an iced coffee, just add cold brew or chilled coffee into a cup with ice and finish with a dash of the homemade creamer!
Coffee Tips
For best results, I suggest using organic coffee. My favorite coffee is New Harvest Organic Kilimanjaro Blend.
In my opinion, the best method to make coffee is with a French Press. It comes out great every time and you can add in an extra tablespoon of coffee grounds for a stronger flavor.
If you like using a classic coffee maker, I love the Cuisinart 4-in-1 Barista Bar Coffee Machine.
Serving Suggestions
Add this delicious vanilla coconut creamer to your favorite hot black coffee or cold brew coffee! You can also use this recipe to sweeten up your favorite matcha drink.
