🍴Ingredient Notes
- Frozen Strawberries - Frozen organic strawberries are much cheaper than fresh strawberries, plus they give a thick consistency to this smoothie without the need for ice.
- Fresh Blackberries - Blackberries have a unique flavor and are a necessity for this smoothie! You can also use frozen blackberries.
- Fresh Banana - I would recommend a fresh, ripe banana so the smoothie blends easier. If you only have frozen banana slices, that will work too! Especially if you like a thicker smoothie.
- Plain Coconut Yogurt - Any plain yogurt will work! You can also swap for a vanilla flavored yogurt.
Recipe Variations
- If you don't have yogurt, swap for dairy-free milk.
- To save money on fresh fruit, swap the fresh blackberries for frozen mixed berries. You may need water or dairy-free milk to help it blend!
- Raspberries would also be a great addition to this recipe.
- Add Collagen Powder or Vanilla Protein to keep you full for longer!
🍴Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: Preparing Ingredients
Add into a blender, frozen strawberries, fresh blackberries, fresh banana, and plain coconut yogurt.
Step 2: Blending
Blend on high until the consistency is smooth and creamy. (Add a splash of water or dairy-free milk if needed!)
Step 3: Serving
Pour into two large cups and serve chilled!
Expert Tips
- If your smoothie is too thin, add more frozen strawberries or ice for a super creamy texture.
- To thin out the smoothie, add a little water or dairy-free milk.
- Make sure you're using ripe bananas as they add the natural sweetness to this smoothie recipe.
- If you don't have frozen strawberries, use fresh strawberries and swap for frozen bananas!
- Freeze leftover smoothie in silicone ice cube trays to use for later!
- Use a high-speed blender for this recipe. If you only have a food processor on hand, you can use that too!
How to store leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight mason jar cup with lid for up to 4 days.
To freeze, add smoothie into a freezer-safe container and store in the freezer for up to two months.
You can also store leftover smoothie in an ice cube tray. Freeze until you're ready to blend! Just add water or dairy-free milk with the smoothie cubes.
