🍴Ingredient Notes
- Frozen Blueberries - To save time and money, I suggest using frozen organic blueberries! Wild blueberries would be delicious too!
- Cold Water - You can also use coconut water or a non-dairy milk like unsweetened almond milk, coconut milk, or cashew milk. Filtered water works great though!
- Vanilla Protein Powder - My favorite Paleo friendly brands are Amy Myers Vanilla Protein Powder and Ancient Nutrition Vanilla Bone Broth Protein Powder.
- Raw Pumpkin Seeds - I love sneaking in extra nutrients with nuts and seeds! Pumpkin seeds make a great addition to this recipe, but you could also try using chia seeds hemp seeds, or flax seeds.

Why You Should Buy Organic Blueberries
Frozen Fruit
Organic produce can be on the pricier side, but it's much less expensive to purchase frozen fruit! You can find a large bag of organic blueberries for a great price at Costco.
The Dirty Dozen
I use the Environmental Working Group's yearly list called the Dirty Dozen when determining if it's worth getting organic or not.
The list has fruits and vegetables that contain the highest amount of pesticide residue from greatest to least. I always buy organic blueberries because they are all at the top of the Dirty Dozen list.
The Clean Fifteen
EWG also provides a list called The Clean Fifteen that has a variety of fruits and vegetables that are safe to purchase nonorganic.
This list of produce contains very low or no trace of pesticides. Some clean fruits on this list are honeydew melon, kiwi, and pineapple!

I just made this for my son and it was absolutely amazing. I used non-sweetened vanilla almond milk instead of water. We will definitely be making this often. Thanks for the recipe!
