🍴Ingredient Notes
- Medjool Dates - Make sure you remove the pit!
- Bacon - Cut strips in half or thirds. I used Applegate no sugar added bacon, but any bacon will work! Butcher Box also makes high quality bacon.
- Jalapeño Peppers - Cut into bite size strips. Make sure you remove the seeds!
🍴Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Ingredients
Start by removing the pit from the dates. Next, cut each slice of bacon in half and set aside. Finally, cut jalapeño peppers into small thin strips.
Step 2: Assemble Dates
To assemble, add a strip of jalapeño inside each date, and wrap the date with a strip of bacon. Use a toothpick to secure. Repeat!
Step 3: Bake or Air Fry
Add the wrapped dates to a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes. (Broil 1-2 minutes for extra crispy bacon.) Serve hot - enjoy!
Expert Tips
- Stick the toothpick straight through the date to secure the bacon!
- If you like less bacon, cut the strips into thirds. If you like more bacon, cut the strips in half.
- For a less sweet option, only use half of a date.
- Top with freshly chopped parsley, and flaky sea salt.
- Re-heat the dates in the air fryer for extra crispy bacon!
- Place the cooked dates on a paper towel lined plate so absorb any excess oil.
- If you like an extra kick of spice use two strips of jalapeño in each date.
- Best served fresh out of the oven! Do not bake or air fry until you're ready to serve.
