Why I love this recipe
I think we can all agree that the best part of making brownies is eating the batter! Which is why I wanted to create a recipe that is completely safe to eat raw, and great for anyone who is dairy-free and gluten-free.
My Edible Brownie Batter is rich, decadent, and sure to satisfy any chocolate craving! Plus, it's lower in sugar, and made without butter, eggs, or milk.

🍴Ingredient Notes
- Unsweetened Vanilla Coconut Yogurt - Any yogurt will work with this recipe!
- Cacao Powder - You can use traditional cocoa powder, but I like cacao powder because it’s less processed and more NUTRIENT DENSE. TerraSoul is one of my favorite brands – great quality, and great price!
- Golden Monkfruit - Swap for coconut sugar or any granulated sugar.
- Vanilla Collagen - Any vanilla or chocolate protein powder or collagen powder will work with this recipe. I used Primal Kitchen's Vanilla Coconut Collagen!
- Coconut Flour - I have not tested this recipe with any other flour.
- Cashew Butter - Any nut butter will work with this recipe! I just love the flavor of cashew butter because it's very mild which blends well with the chocolate! If you're nut-free swap for Sunbutter!
- Chocolate Chips - This is totally optional, but feel free to fold in some chocolate chips or sprinkle them on top! My favorite dairy-free + soy free dark chocolate brands are Hu Kitchen and Pascha.
🍴Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: Mixing Brownie Batter
Start by adding all ingredients into a mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer to blend until it's a smooth, creamy consistency.
Step 2: Storing Brownie Batter
Transfer the brownie batter into a glass container with a cover. Place in the refrigerator to set for about 30-60 minutes. Enjoy as is, or fold in chocolate chips!
Expert Tips
- Let the brownie batter chill for at least 30 minutes so it has time to set up. The batter will thicken as it chills.
- In my experience, it's easiest to use a hand mixer to create a smooth consistency.
- Feel free to add more or less collagen powder depending on how much protein you'd like!
- If you use unflavored collagen, you might want to add extra sugar for sweetness!
- Add sprinkles or chocolate chips on top if you're feeling fancy!
