🍴Ingredient Notes
- Golden Potatoes - These work best for this recipe because they have a thin skin that does not need to be peeled!
- Avocado Oil - You can also swap for coconut oil or olive oil.
- Salt - I used pink salt for seasoning, and flaky sea salt for a topping at the end!
- Curry Powder - My favorite Curry Powder is by Frontier Co-Op.
- Black Pepper - You'll need a little black pepper for an extra kick of flavor!
🍴Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: Cutting Potatoes
Start by cutting potatoes into long strips. Place the cut potatoes into a large bowl with water. Let them soak for about an hour.
Step 2: Seasoning Potatoes
Drain the water and dry the potatoes with a towel. Pour the potatoes back into the large bowl and add avocado oil, curry powder, salt, and black pepper.
Step 3: Preparing to bake
Line two large baking sheet with parchment paper and pour half of the potatoes on each sheet. Spread them out the best you can! (Space will make them crispier.)
Step 4: Baking French Fries
Bake the potatoes at 400 degrees for about 45 minutes. Or until golden brown! Serve hot with a sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
Expert Tips
- To save time, skip peeling the potatoes. (You can't even taste it!)
- If you do not peel the potatoes, make sure you wash them before cutting.
- Space out the potatoes on the baking sheet. If they're too close together they will not get super crispy.
- Use parchment paper to ensure the fries don't stick.
- Stir them around about halfway through baking. (Especially if you're using an air fryer.)
- Broil for 1-2 minutes at the end if you want the fries EXTRA crispy.
- Top the fries with flaky sea salt for added texture and flavor!
How to store leftovers
Leftovers should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. To re-heat, use a frying pan or air fryer! You can microwave, but they might come out a little soggy.
