Why I love this recipe
This is one of the easiest recipes that I have ever made. It tastes like you put in a lot of effort when in reality it only took about 10 minutes to prepare.
Plus, you only need TWO ingredients. I find that because of bacon's rich, salty flavor, you don't need to season the asparagus or add any oil! Just wrap, cook, and serve!
🍴Ingredient Notes
- Asparagus - I used fresh organic asparagus for this recipe. Make sure you trim off the last inch or so because it's hard to chew. (Cut from the thick end.)
- Bacon - Any bacon will work with this recipe, but I prefer if it's not too thick or else it will break easily. Thinner bacon is more pliable. My favorite brands are Applegate and Butcher Box!
🍴Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: Trimming the Asaparagus
Start by rinsing the asparagus and trimming off the thick end. (Just the last inch or two.)
Step 2: Wrapping Asparagus
Bunch 3-4 pieces together and wrap with bacon. As you wrap, move down the stem so it's not one big clump.
Step 3: Air Frying Asparagus
Add to an air fryer or baking sheet. Cook at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes or until bacon is crispy. Serve hot!
Expert Tips
- Make sure to trim off the ends of the asparagus as they are very tough to chew.
- Clump 3-4 pieces of asparagus together for a better vegetable to bacon ratio.
- Serve this dish hot!
- Place them on a paper towel lined plate to absorb any extra oil from the bacon.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! You can wrap the asparagus with bacon and store in the refrigerator until you're ready to cook!
You can cook this recipe on a grill or in the oven! It should take about 20-30 minutes depending on what cooking method you choose.
In my opinion bunching a few pieces together is a better ratio. Bacon has a very rich, salty flavor that balances well when using more than one piece of asparagus.
How to store leftovers
Leftovers should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. (For up to 5 days.) To re-heat, air fry for 2-5 minutes!
