What I love about this recipe is that it comes together quickly and easily! (Great for beginner cooks.)  And the best part is, you don't have to wait for burger season because they are cooked in a skillet right on the stovetop!

Ingredients

– 1 Pound Ground Chicken – ½ Cup Finely Diced Bell Pepper – ¼ Cup Finely Diced Sweet Onion – 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil – 1 Teaspoon Salt – ½ Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper – ½ Teaspoon Garlic Powder

Chicken Burger Mixture

Start by adding all ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Stir together until ingredients are fully combined.

Shape into Patties

Next, split the chicken mixture into five large balls. Place the balls on a parchment paper lined plate or baking sheet. Press down into chicken patties.

Cook Burgers

Spray the frying pan with a nonstick cooking spray or your preferred cooking oil. Place each chicken burger on the preheated pan. Cook for 5-6 minutes on medium high heat.

Flip Burgers

Finally, flip the chicken burgers and cover the pan. Cook for an additional 8-10 minutes. (Or until the center is cooked through.)

Helpful Tips

– Mix all ingredients the night before to allow the flavors to marinate longer! This also saves on prep time the next day. – Use this recipe for meal prepping! Serve the burgers throughout the week for quick lunches. – If you don't have kitchen safe gloves, coat the palm of your hands with oil to prevent the meat from sticking to your hands when making the burger patties.

Serving Suggestions

– For a more traditional burger, serve with gluten-free hamburger buns. Top with tomato slices, fresh lettuce, pickles, and red onion. You could even add a dairy-free slice of cheese! – For a lighter option, serve with a lettuce bun or lettuce wrap! Romaine lettuce or bib lettuce work great. – Spicy Chicken Burgers are also a great protein option for a salad!
