Equipment

  • High Speed Blender
  • Small Sauce Pan

Ingredients

  • 10 Pitted Medjool Dates
  • 1 Cup Boiling Water
  • ½ Tsp. Salt
  • 1 Tbs. Maple Syrup

Instructions

  • Start by boiling a cup of water. Add the cup of water into a larger glass/ceramic bowl. Next add your 10 pitted dates. Let them soak for 10 minutes.
  • Once they have soaked for 10 minutes, add the dates and the water they soaked in into your blender. Blend until the mixture is creamy. (There should not be any chunks.) I use the puree setting on my Ninja Blender.
  • Transfer the mixture into a small sauce pan. Use a spatula to scrape the edges. Turn the heat to medium/high.
  • Next add your maple syrup and salt. Use a whisk to continuously stir. Once it starts bubbling, turn to a low heat setting.
  • Set your timer for 20 minutes, and let simmer. Stirring occasionally.
  • Once your sauce has simmered for twenty minutes, transfer to a glass Tupperware container. Place in the fridge until it has completely cooled.

Notes

Caramel Tips:
  1. After the dates have soaked, you will add the dates & the water into the blender.
  2. Make sure to remove the pits from you dates before soaking them!
