Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Medium Pot

Ingredients

  • 1+½ Pounds Flank Steak or Flat Iron Steak
  • 6 Cups Broccoli Florets
  • 1 Cup Uncooked White Rice I used basmati, but any rice will work!
  • ¼ Cup Teriyaki Sauce I love Primal Kitchen No Soy Teriyaki Sauce.
  • 2-3 Tablespoons Green Onions, Chopped
  • 2 Teaspoons Sesame Seeds

Instructions

Marinating Steak

  • Add steak into a large bowl with teriyaki sauce. Stir around until steak is completely coated in the sauce. Place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Broccoli

  • Next, steam broccoli florets in a pot until tender. To season, add a pinch of salt and pepper.

Rice

  • In a separate pot, cook rice according to directions on the package. You'll need at least one cup of dry rice.

Cooking Steak

  • Cook the steak on a hot skillet for about 6 minutes on each side. (Depending on how well done you like your steak!)

Assembling Bowls

  • Assemble the bowls by adding in rice, broccoli, and steak cut into thin strips. Top with sesame seeds, extra teriyaki sauce, and chopped green onions.

Notes

**Nutrition facts will vary depending on what Teriyaki Sauce you use!

Expert Tips

  • Do not over steam the broccoli or it will become mushy. It should be fork tender, but not too soft.
  • Add 2 cups of cauliflower rice to the pot of white rice to sneak in some extra vegetables!
  • Steak will continue cooking in the pan when you remove it from the heat, so I like to pull it off when it's a little underdone.
  • Lightly salt the rice and broccoli.
  • Drizzle sauce over beef bowls before serving.
